3)Have a strategy that you work daily and re-work whenever necessary. So many artists do not have business plans, a strategy, as much as I send out
strategy ideas and work with artists to adhere to a game-plan, too many get caught up in the artistry and not the business when it is two parts to our industry - Music and Business
4)Get your copyrights in order, get your Performance Rights Organization to work WITH YOU, not to ignore you, stay on BMI, ASCAP and SESAC
and ask them to help you, go to their forums in NY, and perform at their BMI / ASCAP nights. Some of these executives go on to work for publishers or record labels or in the film industry
Those are 4 quick points for today

Ever wonder how much an artist gets every time you click their song on services like Spotify?
The Swedish streaming-music provider is looking to provide some answers amid continued debate over whether artists and music rights holders get a fair shake from their business model.
Spotify Ltd. on Tuesday disclosed, among other things, that each time a user listens to a song, rights holders are paid between 0.6 cent and 0.84 cent. Over the course of 2013, the company said, it will have paid $500 million in royalties, representing half of the $1 billion
